Welcome to the Digital Media Lab (DML) homepage, a division of Advanced Information and Communication Technology Center (AICTC) of Sharif University of Technology. The mission of the DML is to perform innovative research in the areas of mobile computing and multimedia systems. Members of the group are investigating multimedia especially video communication in wireless networks such as scalable video coding, error concealment and post-processing techniques, rate control, wireless media streaming, transporting video over 3G wireless networks, mechanisms to improve multimedia applications throughput over wireless links and using new standards like for wireless applications. In addition, issues related to (video) data encoding and compression, resource allocation and multimedia teleconferencing are also being addressed. Finally, new M-Commerce applications for wireless devices such as mobile phones, pagers, PDAs, Pocket PC, palm devices based on Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and Java 2 Platform Micro Edition (J2ME) being designed and developed.
